NYX launches first Facebook app
Virtual credits-based SlotsPoint app features a portfolio of games from the Swedish-Australian provider.

NYX Gaming Group has made its first foray into social media, developing the virtual credits-based Facebook app SlotsPoint.
The group, formed when Swedish provider NYX Interactive purchased Australian company NextGen in November, revealed that the app, developed in-house, is the first to feature its social media gaming suite.
SlotsPoint is exclusively available on Facebook, and offers a variety of NextGen games such as Medusa and Mad Mad Monkey, while players can access more content by playing the games and accumulating leaderboard points.
Several games are already available to unlock following December’s beta-launch, but the portfolio will be expanded as more players begin to progress through the levels on the app.
Other features include achievement levels and gifting, while SlotsPoint is available in a number of different languages.
Matt Davey, former NextGen chief executive and now CEO of NYX Gaming Group, said: “We are delighted to be the first mainstream gaming provider to offer a suite of integrated social media tools to our partners.”
“We’re proud to cater for the functionality, scalability and speed required to compete in social gaming and crucially provide the autonomy that an Operator needs to make a success of this exciting new space,” he added.
Davey took over as group CEO following the acquisition of NextGen in November, with a spokesman for the group telling eGaming Review that “There needed to be an over-arching head for the group”.
Scott Smith has assumed the role of managing director for the NextGen side of operations, with David Flynn MD for the NYX side.
