Operator closes in on second-placed bet365 after recording highest percentage of football bet slips clicks in October

BetVictor has strengthened its third place position in the Oddschecker top 10 after setting a new record for the percentage of football bet slip clicks during the month of October.
The operator attracted a 17.8% share of the UK football market, up 2% on the previous record it set during the previous month. The performance helped BetVictor to an overall Oddschecker market share of 11.35%, sandwiched between second-placed Betfair (15.98%) and Paddy Power in fourth (8.85%).
“Oddschecker is very important to BetVictor as it is the leading odds comparison site and adds gravitas to our claim that BetVictor offers the best value of any bookmaker on Premier League and European football,” a BetVictor spokesperson said.
“The bet slip clicks from Oddschecker during October backs this up and our primary objective is to remain the bookmaker offering best value for football,” the spokesperson added.
Ladbrokes’ woes continued as the operator struggled to make an impact on the odds comparison site during October, sacrificing 0.7% of the market versus September to post an overall share of 5.25%.
The Magic Sign suffered drops of 2% and 1.7% for UK and European football respectively “ a performance which allowed rival Coral (5.93%) to take sixth position and relegate Ladbrokes to seventh in the rankings.
Sportsbook and exchange operator Betfair once again topped the rankings on 18.54%, a slight improvement on its September share, while Stoke-based operator bet365 was said to have dominated the international football markets.
Golf continued to be a strong suit for Sky Bet which, despite no major golf tournament, saw its market share increase 1.4% month-on-month to 7.9% placing it ninth overall on 3.69%.
