Oddschecker: TV advertising boosts Coral's market share
Operator closes gap on sixth-placed William Hill after increasing its market share by 7.6% month-on-month

An intensive TV advertising campaign has led to Coral achieving its highest ever share of bet slip clicks in November’s Oddschecker Top 10 in what was a testing month for most of its competitors.
The Gibraltar-licensed operator maintained its sixth place position in the rankings with 6.38% market share, sandwiched between fifth-placed William Hill (7.54%) and Ladbrokes in seventh (5.29%).
The operator recently launched a television advertising campaign featuring Enzo Calzaghe, the father of former Welsh boxer Joe Calzaghe.
In a month of no place movements, Coral was also able cement its position as the fourth biggest operator for football betting ahead of Paddy Power and William Hill after a strong performance in UK and European football markets.
“This reflects the continued evolution of our sportsbook offering,” Nick Maurice, interactive sportsbook director at Coral, said. “We’ve been encouraged by the response from the marketplace so far.”
UK operator’s Ladbrokes and Sky Bet were the only other operators to enjoy overall month-on-month growth after seeing market share increase from 5.25% to 5.29% and 3.69% to 4.01% respectively.
Oddschecker said Sky Bet’s success was due to a strong performance in the horse racing market as the operator reaped the benefits from the launch of its Best Odds Guaranteed offer for racing.
Ladbrokes was the biggest beneficiary of the start of the Ashes test cricket series between England and Australia after the firm grew its cricket bet slip clicks market share by 1.4% between October and November.
The top two positions continued to be occupied by Betfair and bet365, despite the pair losing 2.6% and 2.8% of market share month-on-month respectively.
