Ongame launches dot.be mobile poker
Golden Palace becomes first operator in jurisdiction to take on iPhone and iPad offering.

Belgian-licensed operator GoldenPalace.be has become the first operator in the EU Member State to go live with Ongame’s dot.be mobile poker client.
Downloadable from the Belgian iTunes store, the offering is available on iPhone and iPad devices. in January 2011, Ongame skin bwin became the first egaming operator to have a real-money dot.com poker product added to the iTunes store.
GoldenPalace.be, not to be confused with its blacklisted dot.com namesake, was awarded a licence by the Belgian Gaming Commission in April.
The company’s poker manager, Glenn de Cuyper, said: “Our poker players demanded a premium mobile offering. Starting today, we can meet those needs with mobile poker from Ongame.”
The deal represents the first product launch from Ongame since it was acquired by Amaya Gaming in November, and follows an agreement with Connecticut-based casino Mohegan Sun to provide it with a freeplay poker offering for online and mobile in the near future.
Ongame managing director Peter Bertilsson said: “We’ve been first into every market opened so far. Ongame was one of the first to offer online poker in Belgium, and also the first to offer a complete mobile offering.
“Mobile has surpassed that of any consumer technology in history, being twice as fast as the Internet boom of the ’90s and even three times quicker than the take-up of social media networking. Amaya and Ongame are proud to enable partners like goldenpalace.be to harvest the benefits of being a first mover,” he added.
