Partypoker extends new portrait mode to fast-fold cash games
One-handed play and gamified features target poker’s casual user base

GVC-owned partypoker has released a redesigned version of its ‘FastForward’ cash games in portrait mode for mobile players.
The reorientation of the iOS and Android apps is designed to allow for single-handed play, while up to four tables can be displayed at once with a tiled layout.
The move brings FastForward into line with partypoker’s lottery-style, three-player SPINS which was the operator’s first product to undergo the transition from landscape to portrait mode.
As well as a revamped lobby available in carousel or tiled view, users are able play both FastFoward and SPINS simultaneously with the tiling feature.
FastForward includes the gamification features partypoker introduced to SPINS in November, including in-game currency Diamonds, bubble chat, emojis and in-game animations.
Partypoker Team Online’s Jaime Staples said: “This app brings poker on your phone into the modern age. The experience of just being able to play with one finger is something I have never had the chance to experience before.”
The final game formats to undergo the switch to portrait mode in the near future are single- and multi-table tournaments.
The operator’s head of poker product, Ross McQuater, told EGR recently how partypoker’s mobile poker offering “hadn’t seen much love” over the years and so a complete makeover was overdue.
