Partypoker revamps Spanish site for shared liquidity launch
Partypoker.es gets a makeover as GVC considers relaunching the brand in Italy

GVC-owned partypoker has revamped its Spanish website to improve the player experience ahead of joining the shared European poker liquidity pool.
The brand said it had made “significant gameplay enhancements” to its .es software to give Spanish players the same user experience as .com players.
Software changes include player alias-masking prior to the start of games, random seating during cash games and a darker lobby interface where players can view a full screen lobby before being seated “as quickly as possible”.

The shared liquidity pool will launch “imminently”, according to partypoker MD Tom Waters, while further technical improvements for Spanish and French players will be released during the summer.
“An upgrade to our Spanish poker client is long overdue and we have been working hard to give Spanish players the same experience as our dotcom players,” said Waters.
“We have been able to close a number of gaps and, while we are not quite complete, the improvement in gameplay experience will be significant.
“Further enhancements to the .es software will follow in the coming months as we continue to improve our product and align the player experience across all markets,” he added.
In related news, GVC could be expanding the partypoker brand to Italy, EGR understands. The firm obtained three online gaming licences for the Italian market in April after regulators opened the door to 120 applicants.
Two were renewals of its bwin and Gioco Digitale brands, but EGR understands the third was purchased to allow for a potential partypoker relaunch in the market once Italy joins the shared liquidity pool.
