PartyPoker leads the way in New Jersey
Online operator dominates the real-money poker market in the US as partner Borgata launches mobile product

PartyPoker is dominating the real-money poker market in New Jersey with almost twice as many players using its site compared with nearest rival Caesars’ World Series of Poker (WSOP) platform.
According to rankings site PokerScout, bwin.party’s PartyPoker brand recorded a peak of 641 cash players over the last 24 hour hours compared with 313 on Caesars’ WSOP site.
A month after egaming went live in the Garden State, PartyPoker, which is offered on its own dot.nj site along with its partner The Borgata, has seen an average of 280 players log-on to its site each week, while WSOP has recorded an average of 170.
The pair arguably boast the strongest poker brands to be launched in the state to date, with the All American Poker Network “ a joint venture between 888 and Avenue Capital, following behind with a weekly average of 110 players.
Last month, PartyPoker became the first online operator in New Jersey to offer real-money poker and casino games through a mobile platform. The App, being offered through Apple’s App store, is free to download but is only being offered on iOS for the time being.
PartyPoker joins Caesars’ World Series of Poker and 888Poker in offering players cash games via their iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches.
The US success of PartyPoker comes as rival poker operator 888 continued its rise up the overall Poker Scout rankings to number two on the liquidity table.
888poker for the first time became the ‘best of the rest’ behind perpetual leader PokerStars, eclipsing Full Tilt which dropped from second to fourth behind third-placed iPoker.
The operator attributed its rise to the launch of a global marketing campaign, the addition of fast-fold poker in the form of SNAP and a special winter bonus promotion.
“The bespoke bonus campaign has had a huge response thus far with player numbers continuing to rise day by day this winter season,” an 888 spokesperson said of Winter Bonus Boom.
