Perform Group begins Facebook integration
Streaming content from Livesport.tv brand will be integrated with the social network.

Live streaming provider Perform Group has announced plans to launch 50 dedicated live sports streaming channels on Facebook.
The channels cover sports including tennis and rugby union, while one-off box office events will also be included for selected sports such as boxing.
As well as Perform’s Livesport.tv platform being opened up to users of the social network, players will also be able to integrate their Facebook accounts with a number of sites across the LiveSport.tv network. The integration follows a deal with Korean company LG, which will see the livesport.tv platform connected to the firm’s smart TVs.
Perform intends to use Facebook’s targeted advertising to bring potential subscribers to each sport offered, while the provider has revealed that Facebook credits are likely to be introduced as an alternative avenue of subscribtion, which ordinarily costs £2.99 per month or more depending on the sport in question. Aside from the subscription service for live streaming, video on demand (VOD) will remain free to users.
Perform joint-CEO Oliver Slipper said: “This is an exciting integration. We believe that making Livesport.tv available through Facebook presents a great opportunity to build our subscriber business and increase our VOD audience.”
