Playtech bolsters live casino business with “world’s largest” studio
Supplier’s new facility in Latvia boasts an 8,500 square metre capacity to help meet a “surge” in client demand

Playtech has opened what it claims is the “world’s largest” live casino studio in Latvia to help the egaming supplier meet increased operator demand in the vertical.
The London-listed firm’s “next generation” studio is based in the Latvian capital of Riga, adding to studios in the Philippines, Spain, Belgium and its recently opened operation in Bucharest, Romania.
According to the supplier, the Riga-based facility has an 8,500 square metre capacity and will cater for the majority of Playtech’s live casino footprint throughout Europe.
“This has been a huge undertaking but, more importantly, is a huge step forwards in live casino and one no other company except Playtech is capable of making,” Playtech CEO, Mor Weizer, said.
“Our licensees’ offerings have firmly been futureproofed with the completion of our new studio, leading-edge software and hardware and state-of-the-art control centre.
“This now gives us the platform to deliver the next generation of live casino to our customers, and will also give us the flexibility and ability to deliver many new and innovative products.”
The new Latvia-based facility features state-of-the-art cameras, an advanced control and monitoring centre and large-scale dealer campus for training Playtech Live’s staff.
The opening of the live casino studio comes just weeks after the supplier unveiled a new studio in Romania to help the firm respond to increased demand in the newly regulated Eastern European market.
