Playtech inks KYC solutions deal with Jumio
London-listed supplier to uses ID and document verification solution to streamline onboarding for new customers

Playtech has partnered with Jumio in a deal which will strengthen its identify verification and authentication capabilities.
Under the remit of the agreement, Jumio joins Playtech’s SaaS programme which affords Playtech affiliated operators and suppliers access to various technologies and services.
Jumio’s ID verification and document verification solutions will be made available to Playtech’s ecosystem to help support operators when onboarding new customers.
The ID verification detects discrepancies in government-issued identity documents such as photos and content to ascertain the genuineness of the document.
The document verification solution allows new customers to verify their address using a smartphone or webcam by scanning the corresponding documents – instead of physically having to visit a casino.
California-based Jumio uses a combination of AI, biometrics and machine learning to provide its KYC solutions and has verified more than 225 million identities worldwide.
Anthony Evans, VP of product strategy at Playtech, said: “Jumio is the kind of landmark partner in the compliance space that will really help us further establish our SaaS programme.”
Simon Winchester, Jumio VP of EMEA sales, added: “It’s our ability to uniquely balance fraud detection, compliance mandates, and the user experience that will prove invaluable to Playtech’s ecosystem of operators looking for ways to adapt in this rapidly evolving landscape.”
