Playtech sponsors Girls in Tech Gibraltar initiative
Supplier pledges to “increase diversity and inclusion in the gaming industry” through the global organisation

Playtech has announced its sponsorship of the Gibraltar-based arm of global organisation Girls in Tech.
The sponsorship is a result of the supplier’s commitment to “increase diversity and inclusion in the gaming industry,” a Playtech statement said.
The Gibraltar arm of the empowerment, entrepreneurship, engagement and education focused entity will shine a light on why gender diversity is crucial in creating successful organisations.
Shimon Akad, COO of Playtech, said the initiative was the first of its kind on the Rock.
“We have very strong ties to Gibraltar and its business community and are great believers in diversity and inclusion. We strongly believe that a diverse workplace creates a highly engaging environment and a successful business.
“We believe that diversity and inclusion makes us who we are and plays a huge part in helping us continue to grow as a successful, socially responsible, global organisation,” he added.
Managing director of Girls in Tech Gibraltar, Cristina Turbatu, commented: “Gibraltar is a key, internationally focused hub with technology playing a key role in both public and private sectors.
Girls in Tech is here to deliver a successful and motivational platform for women to enter and succeed in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.”
