Playtech unveils new live casino studio in Romania
Supplier opens Bucharest-based facility in response to operator demand in newly regulated market

Playtech has opened a live casino studio in Romania, as the egaming supplier responds to increased operator demand in the newly regulated Eastern European market.
The London-listed firm’s new studio was recently opened in Bucharest and offers its clients a range of game variants, including live blackjack, roulette and casino hold’em.
The facility – which adds to studios in Manila and others in Europe – employs native dealers and streams its products using the latest HD camera equipment across all desktop and mobile devices.
“The opening of the new studio further solidifies Playtech’s position as the market leader in global, cutting-edge, regulated live casino,” Playtech CEO, Mor Weizer, said.
“This is just the beginning of our growth plans with a series of exciting new products and variants in our 2017 live casino roadmap as well as significant expansion plans for our other facilities,” he added.
Playtech currently has four B2B licences including software, live studio, platform and hosting services.
Operators began receiving full B2C licences towards the end of last year from Romania’s National Office for Gambling (ONJN) after previously operating in the market under an interim licence.
The launch of this new live casino facility comes after Evolution Gaming partnered with iSoftBet in September to open the first live casino studio in market.
In other Romania-focused news, EveryMatrix this week announced it had been granted two Class II Licences from the ONJN to offer its sports and casino solutions to online gambling operators in the market.
