Playtech to hire 300 in omni-channel push
Supplier undertakes major recruitment drive as it closes in on a "number of significant agreements"
Playtech said today it will add 300 new staff before the end of 2015 to support its omni-channel push, as the supplier prepares to announce a number of “significant” new deals.
The London-listed firm said it expects to announce a number of new government and non-government omni-channel contracts shortly, and will need to expand across the board to deliver.
New roles across development, operational, product, IT and customer support will be created, and will be spread across the Isle of Man-headquartered firm’s major offices.
“With a number of significant agreements close to completion, we are currently undergoing a large-scale investment plan in order to deliver the maximum success for these projects,” Mor Weizer, the firm’s CEO, said.
Sports betting, currently Playtech’s fastest growing product vertical, will see the largest investment, and the firm said it was also looking at a number of bolt-on acquisitions to support growth in the vertical.
The firm said replicating the success of its omni-channel Coral Connect product, which enables users to share an account between online, mobile and retail, was at the heart of the expansion plans with Weizer calling the technology the “future of betting and gaming”.
Since January 2014, Playtech has hired approximately 600 staff to take its team to more than 4,000 members across 14 countries.
Announcements regarding any new agreements are unlikely to be made until after next week’s trading update.
