Plumbee hires ex-Betfair CFO
CEO Raf Keustermans says Owen O'Donnell's experience and network of contacts will benefit social operator.

Social gaming operator Plumbee has hired former Betfair and King.com chief financial officer Owen O’Donnell as an independent non-executive director of the company.
O’Donnell entered the egaming industry in 2003, joining Betfair as CFO from publishing company Pearson in 2003 and spending two years with the exchange betting operator. He then moved to social operator King.com before leaving for digital media company Joost after less than two years.
Currently he is a non-executive director of Rank Group, which yesterday announced a deal to acquire Gala Coral’s land-based casinos, and was chairman of fantasy sports operator FanDuel until January this year.
Plumbee’s co-founder and CEO Raf Keustermans commented that O’Donnell’s experience and standing in the industry would prove beneficial for the social operator: “Owen will not only bring corporate and finance expertise to Plumbee, but also his fantastic network in the gambling, games, tech and investor communities,” he said.
Plumbee have hired a number of experienced gaming professionals in advisory roles. Following the launch of its first slot game in March, the company announced that Gaming Edge Associates’ Ben Fried and Anton Bell had joined former Playfish general managers John Earner and Dan Fiden on a special advisory board.
