Pokerscout begins tracking play-money games
Zynga leads the way - plans in place to build on the nine sites currently tracked.

Poker tracking site Pokerscout has introduced a new section looking at player liquidity for play-money poker games.
It currently includes ring-game data for nine sites and networks, including social poker offering Zynga Poker and bwin.party’s subscription-based ClubWPT site, but spokesman Dan Stewart told eGaming Review “We will definitely be expanding that list over time.”
Stewart added that Pokerscout has been tracking the sites for some time before publishing an inaugural list this week, which places Zynga comfortably at the top with a seven-day average of more than 120,000 players, nearly five times the total of nearest competitor PokerStars. ClubWPT sits in sixth place between the Merge and Ongame networks.
A number of land-based operators and manufacturers have launched freeplay offerings in the last year, to prepare for potential regulation in the United States, with Golden Nugget recently going live on Bally’s igaming platform.
Stewart explained: “Interest in play money poker has never been higher as major operators gear up to enter the US under regulation. We recently started tracking this important area of the market, and our coverage will continue to grow over time.
“PokerScout has been the leader in tracking real money poker sites for years, and we look forward to doing the same in the play money space,” he added.
eGR exclusively revealed earlier this month that Zynga had submitted a verbal offer for Ongame as it considers its real-money poker options. A poll of readers on this site agreed that buying or partnering with an online gambling specialist would be the best route for the social gaming giant to go down.
