PokerStars Casino launches “Epic Downtime” UK marketing campaign
Flutter-owned brand combines with creative agency Anomaly on new TV ad fronted by fictional stuntman Alfonso Steele

PokerStars has gone live with a new multi-channel marketing promotion for its UK casino offering.
The “Epic Downtime” campaign is fronted by stuntman Alfonso Steele, who takes viewers on a dramatic journey across a live film set before retiring to wind down while gambling on his phone.
The initiative took months to make in both the concept and creative stage and was shot in the space of a week utilising no fewer than 100 staff members.
“As you can see from the scale and depth of the final product, it was no small feat to film, especially while negotiating the challenges of working from home, directing the shoot remotely and while social distancing,” a PokerStars spokesperson told EGR Marketing.
The TV ad was developed in collaboration with creative agency Anomaly and supported by global media agency PHD.
It went live in the UK on Friday 26 March.
