Pokerstars dominates Italian online casino market in June
Operator led the market share rankings for online casino, tournament poker and cash poker last month
Pokerstars topped the market share rankings for online casino games in the Italian market in June, according to the latest figures from agimeg.it.
The Stars Group brand claimed 9.5% of the country’s online casino market to top the rankings for the second successive month.
Italian gaming operator Sisal obtained the second biggest share of the market with 8.1%, while state-owned Lottomatica rounded off the top three with a 7.9% share.
Eurobet (6.8%) and Greentube (6.7%) completed the top five for online casino games, while 888 narrowly missed out with 5.9% of the market after launching poker in Italy in January of this year.
Snaitech (5.8%) and Goldbet (2.7%) also experienced positive online casino growth in June.
Pokerstars also reaffirmed its dominance of the poker vertical in Italy last month with a whopping 63.4% market share for tournament games.
The operator also claimed 39.4% of the entire cash poker market, down from 46% in May.
Italy’s coalition government recently introduced a blanket ban on gambling advertising that will take effect from June 2019.
