
PokerStars taps True Geordie for new live poker series
Flutter Entertainment-owned brand partners with YouTube star to launch 10-episode Twitch production


PokerStars has partnered with YouTube star True Geordie to launch a new live poker series on Twitch.
True Geordie, whose real name is Brian Davis, is a popular YouTube and Twitch content creator with a successful podcast and live hosting catalogue.
PokerStars and Davis will launch a new live poker series dubbed The Showdown which will be streamed live from his London studio.
Each episode will feature Davis and his co-host Laurence McKenna joined by friends and occasional special celebrity guests as they play poker and discuss hot topics from the world of sports and entertainment.
There will also be dedicated home games played after each episode of The Showdown. There are currently more than 3,000 members of the True Geordie Home Game club.
The series began on 14 August and was streamed on the True Geordie Twitch channel. PokerStars confirmed there would be at least 10 episodes of The Showdown with guests and times to be confirmed.
Davis said: “We’re very grateful to PokerStars for supporting our vision to make poker content for a new generation while going to a new level technically in online creator content.
“The entire team has worked tirelessly to make this a reality and we can’t wait to grow The Showdown with PokerStars,” he added.
