PokerStars launches UK mobile app
App available to download on Apple and Android devices and allows for real money play.
PokerStars has launched a mobile app for UK players, available for download on Apple and Android devices.
The app however does not currently allow players to create a new account, nor does it have a cashier function, meaning players must register and deposit online before using PokerStars Mobile.
eGaming Review understands that a that a fully integrated app, including the addition of these two features, will be released later this year.
The launch comes after the release of Apple and Android apps for the Italian market, in January and February this year respectively.
Players will be able to access it from anywhere in the United Kingdom except Northern Ireland, and access both real-money and play-money poker.
It covers a number of varieties of the game including no-limit, pot-limit and fixed-limit Hold’em, as well as Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo variants, and allows cash game, sit’n’go and tournament play on several tables at once.
PokerStars has two other non-egaming apps available on Apple devices: PokerStars TV and Pokerstars Clock.
The operator also this week launched its dot.eu website following its successful application for a Maltese egaming licence.
