Poll: Can Videoslots successfully revive the PKR software?
This week we ask whether the 3D poker software still has a place in the egaming industry

Online casino operator Videoslots.com announced last week it was bringing the PKR software out of retirement to power its new online poker product.
Videoslots CEO Alexander Stevendahl said of the PKR tech: “It’s a great platform, I used to play there myself and I loved it. I looked at it the other week and it’s fantastic still.”
It will be the only 3D poker product on the market when it is relaunched early next year, and Stevendahl said Videoslots can succeed where PKR failed by targeting loose and recreational players, with a carefully crafted rewards system.
He also said the poker product would be an acquisition and retention tool rather than needing to be profitable by itself.
But of course, no company will keep a product for long if it turns into a loss leader, and the general trend in the industry is of firms ditching rather than launching poker products.
It also might be easier said than done to acquire and retain recreational players, with firms like PokerStars, 888 and Unibet all competing for the same demographic.
With that in mind, this week we ask whether Videoslots can successfully revive the PKR platform, or whether it is doomed to fail once more?
