Poll: Is Colombia becoming an attractive market for international operators?
Regulator Coljuegos is in the process of approving draft amendments to the online gambling regulations passed in 2016

Last week Ladbrokes’s Spanish JV Sportium was awarded Colombia’s ninth online licence by the country’s regulator Coljuegos.
Colombia passed its online gambling legislation back in May 2016, but since has been in the process of amending a number of requirements following operator feedback.
Stringent technical requirements, a lack of international poker liquidity and VAT on top of gambling taxes are considered to have made the market relatively unappealing initially.
However, VAT on gambling services was dropped in 2017 as part of a national tax reform, and a draft bill, which will likely amend some of the stricter regulations, is in the process of being passed by the Coljuegos board of directors.
Potential changes could see less restrictive technical requirements as well as international shared liquidity on poker and exchange betting.
With this in mind, this week we’re asking whether Colombia is becoming an attractive market for international operators?
