Poll results: Industry not worried about Zynga
Half of those polled will continue to monitor the situation, but don't see the operator as a threat

One half of respondents to this week’s eGaming Review poll do not consider Zynga to be a threat right now, but will continue to monitor the situation.
The social gaming operator moved into the real-money arena last Wednesday, launching ZyngaPlusPoker and ZyngaPlusCasino in the UK. But the high-profile launch has yet to have any impact on cash game traffic at PartyPoker, the network on which it sits, which saw traffic falling week-on-week.
Just 7% of those polled believe Zynga can steal market share from them, while 9% think things will not change until the US-listed business expands its reach beyond the UK market. The operator has filed for a filing of preliminary suitability in Nevada, where the first licensed online poker operators are anticipated to go live before the end of this year, however it is yet to be named on the agenda for meetings of the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
Some doubt remains about the ability of Zynga to convert its freemium player base on Facebook over to real money play, and this is perhaps one factor in the remaining 34% of those polled revealing they are not concerned about Zynga at all. Zynga has the green light to launch real-money gambling on Facebook following last year’s changes to its agreement with the social network, however it is yet to follow Gamesys, 888 and Bonza Gaming in going down that particular route.
