Poll results: Nevada most likely state to take a bet online
55% of readers polled believe Nevada will be first state to take a bet online.

Online gaming regulation in the US continues to look likely despite the repeal of legislation in Washington DC earlier this month.
Nevada has opened up its licensing process to operators and service providers with MGM Resorts International and Boyd Gaming the latest to apply. This follows the extension of 888’s deal with Caesars, that will see a poker offering launched on the Dragonfish platform following US regulation. As a result 55% of those polled believe that Nevada will be the first state to take a bet online.
Despite passing legislation to allow wagers to be placed on mobile devices this week, only 20% of readers believe that New Jersey will be the first state to take a bet. Governor Chris Christie vetoed a bill to legalise online gambling in March last year, describing it as “inconsistent” with his commitment of Atlantic City’s tourism and gambling sectors.
eGaming Review exclusively revealed last week that Iowa senator Jeff Danielson was to introduce a new bill to legalise online gambling, but only 11% of readers believe this will be successful and lead to a regulated intrastate market. A similar percentage believes California will be the first state to legalise online gambling, with 13% of those polled confident it will be the first to take a bet.
