Poll: Which US state will be next to regulate egaming?
New York, Pennsylvania and California all cited as most-likely candidates to pass egaming-friendly legislation

It’s been nearly three years since New Jersey became the third state to launch regulated online gambling in the United States but since then similar attempts in other states have all fallen by the wayside.
California is widely seen as a key regulatory battleground, with many experts predicting that the approval of egaming in the Golden State could lead to a potential domino effect throughout the country.
But recent attempts to regulate online poker in California have faced numerous setbacks and just last month its latest piece of egaming legislation died in the state’s Assembly.
The AB 2863 bill was subject to staunch opposition from PokerStars, its tribal allies, and advocacy group the Poker Players Alliance (PPA), which meant the bill never reached the floor, likely due to fears it would not pass.
In New York, lawmakers have been busy working on legislation to tax and regulate daily fantasy sports (DFS), paving the way for FanDuel and DraftKings to return to the state following their withdrawal in March.
However, there is also speculation this could be followed by online poker legislation in 2017 after the Senate passed a bill presented by Senator John Bonacic earlier this year.
Meanwhile, a growing number of Pennsylvania politicians are also pushing egaming legislation forward as a means to filling a $1bn black hole in its state budget.
With this in mind, this week’s poll asks whether you think California, Pennsylvania or New York will become the latest state to regulate egaming? Or perhaps another state might take everyone by surprise and beat them to it? Have you say on the right-hand side of the page.
