Poll: Would regulatory alignment be a good thing?
As the European Commission looks to harmonise the continent's frameworks, eGR asks whether such a move would benefit the industry

Last week eGaming Review reported that the European Commission had appointed Big Four accountancy firm PwC to explore ways in which the continent’s varying egaming regulatory models could be harmonised.
The ten-month study will see PwC visit 32 EU and EEA member states in order to review their current frameworks and supervisory processes.
The make-up of regulatory frameworks across Europe currently vary from country to country, something which has made it increasingly difficult for operators to remain fully compliant, while licence applications processes can often be repetitive and time consuming.
These issues looks set to be addressed by the study with PwC tasked with reviewing a possible EU-wide standard for gambling and software equipment, while best practice licence enforcement measures could also implemented.
With this in mind, in this week’s poll eGR asks whether the move to harmonise online gaming regulations in Europe will be a good thing for the industry.
Would a one-size-fits-all aqpproach be of benefit or would the upheaval cause unwanted costs and further restrictions for operators?
