
Racing Post recruits Ladbrokes Coral’s head of social media
Elliot Hackney will take the lead on Racing Post’s newly-created content marketing function


Racing Post has hired Ladbrokes Coral’s head of social media Elliot Hackney to lead the publisher’s newly-created content marketing function.
Hackney starts at RP on 9 September and will be based in the affiliate’s Southbank office, having left Ladbrokes Coral where he was instrumental in the success of social show “The Kick Off”.
Hackney’s official job title is head of content marketing and he will report into digital marketing director Gethin Evans, who joined the RP from Gamesys in October last year.

Racing Post CMO Louise Agran said of the appointment: “We are delighted Elliot is joining to head up our newly created content marketing function.
“His experience in producing high-quality videos at pace, sports betting knowledge and vision for content opportunities across our network of brands are a great fit to help us execute our strategy.
“We have made a great start with the success of the Big Kick Off ante-post video partnership with bet365 and we are tremendously excited about the next phase – which starts with a newly refurbished studio on site in our Southbank office,” she added.
Hackney has around 15,000 subscribers on YouTube and a similar number of Twitter followers.
Racing Post announced the launch of a new horseracing trading solution in August.
