Rank Group nets new director of compliance from Betfred

Rank Group has appointed Betfred director of compliance Adele Farrell as its new director of compliance.

Farrell joined Betfred in June 2015 as a commercial manager for the Gibraltar-based business, overseeing the negotiation, management, and review of commercial agreements with third-party providers for the Betfred website.

In June 2016, she became head of digital compliance for the business, before being promoted to director of digital compliance in April 2018.

In this role, Farrell worked to ensure the digital business complied with Gibraltar Gambling Commission and UK Gambling Commission regulations and served as the primary point of contact with both regulators.

A year later, Farrell was given additional responsibility for overseeing Betfred’s retail business as well as its digital offering, working with teams located in Gibraltar and at the firm’s Birchwood office in Warrington.

She will commence her new role at Rank Group on 1 June, working out of Rank Group’s Gibraltar office.

In a post on Linkedin, Farrell said she was “very excited for this new challenge” and looked forward to meeting her new colleagues at Rank.

“Today is my last day at Betfred, although it is a large growing organisation across multiple jurisdictions it very much feels like a family,” Farrell wrote.

“When the founder/chairman called me this morning to thank me and tell me that he will always be there for me then I know I have done the best job for him, his staff (my colleagues and friends) and our customers,” she added.
