Rank pledges to “refresh the bingo experience” with Luda brand
Operator says new brand will showcase the “future of convenience gaming” as it reveals locations of first clubs

Rank Group has pledged to “refresh the bingo experience” for customers after today revealing plans to launch its new multi-channel Luda brand within the next few months.
The operator said its new Luda brand, first announced last year, will showcase the “future of convenience gaming”, with its high street clubs blending the hospitality of a coffee shop with the gaming experience.
The first Luda clubs are scheduled to open in Walsall, Leeds and Weston-Super-Mare in 2017, with an online version expected to shortly follow.
“We’re confident that the new Luda brand will appeal to a wide range of consumers, from groups of friends on a night out looking for a fun time or those seeking to take time out to re-charge their batteries,” Alan Morgan, managing director of Luda, said.
He added: “Luda offers a sociable place to meet, play, try new games, have a bite to eat and relax. Our aim is to develop the concept and create a chain of venues across the UK.”
Rank CEO Henry Birch previously told EGR the new bingo venues would be located on the high street rather than out of town like its Mecca halls.
“If you look at Mecca and Gala Bingo clubs, they are typically large out of town venues that were the product of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s when times were very different and people went to out of town shopping centres with bingo very much more part of the fabric,” Birch said.
“Now, I think similar to the town supermarkets like Tesco Metro and Sainsbury’s Local, there is an opportunity for more convenience gaming and more of a city centre focus,” he added.
