Resorts World makes “momentous” New York debut
Genting subsidiary launches Resorts WorldBET amid March Madness marketing push

Resorts World has launched its Resorts WorldBET sports betting app in New York, taking its first bets on March 3.
The app is available both on Android and iOS and is currently offering a risk-free bet of up to $500 to entice New York punters.
The sportsbook is powered by fellow New York licensee PointsBet’s platform technology.
To augment the launch of its online sportsbook, Resorts World New York City (RWNYC) has invested nearly $1m to install digital displays across the property to show all of the big games throughout the year.
It is understood all Resorts WorldBET advertising will feature a New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC) approved QR code, signposting bettors to the state’s problem gambling resource center.
Genting Americas East president Robert DeSalvio welcomed the long-awaited launch: “This is something our players and sports enthusiasts have wanted for a long time, and we’re excited to say Resorts World New York now has mobile sports betting.
“From our experience in having a sportsbook in both our Catskills and Las Vegas properties, we were able to take feedback from our players and deliver what New Yorkers really want in a mobile sports betting app.
“By partnering with an innovative product and technology-focused company in PointsBet as our platform provider, we believe Resorts WorldBET will only add to our success,” he added.
The Empire State launch means that of the original nine operators given licenses by the New York State Gaming Commission, only Bally’s has yet to officially launch.
In January, Bally’s chairman Soo Kim committed the BallyBet operator to an April launch date, looking to avoid the promotion-led customer acquisition war taking place in New York’s sports betting market.
