Rivalry inks partnership with Valorant pro Matthew “Wardell” Yu
Pair will partner on a number of campaigns aimed at Yu’s fanbase as well as the larger Valorant community

Rivalry has signed a new partnership with professional Valorant player Matthew “Wardell” Yu.
The deal will see the pair collaborate on a number of content campaigns aimed at Yu’s fan base and the larger Valorant community.
These campaigns will include a series where Yu coaches fans on improving their performance in the game with pro tips, as well as offering his insights into matchups on the competitive Valorant circuit.
This partnership aims to boost Rivalry’s standing in the Valorant community throughout the upcoming Valorant Champions Tour 2023.
Valorant continues to build momentum in the esports betting segment, as the operator states the game has seen a 264% year-on-year increase in betting volume and was the fourth most bet-on esport for the firm in 2022.
Yu is the latest pro player to join Rivalry’s network of partners, with over 100 gaming influencers joining up with the firm in nearly a dozen markets.
The deal follows Rivalry’s recent partnership with Brazilian esports team RED Canids, which centred on the organisation’s Counter-Strike side.
Britt Doll, Canada MD for Rivalry, said: “As a fellow Canadian and deeply respected professional player, Wardell was a perfect fit as we looked for a partner that aligned with our brand values of inspiring the next generation to win.
“We want to build the Red Bull of the internet, and that means partnering and working with individuals who are leaders in their respective games, communities and cultures, and Wardell fits that bill.”
Yu added: “Rivalry brings an exciting and creative flair to its partnerships that made this combination a matchmade.
“Together, we’ll arm players and the Valorant community at large with tactics to sharpen their gameplay and bring a lot of entertaining content to the space for fans.”
