SB22 unveils industry-first Apple Watch sports betting app
Dallas-headquartered firm announces it has finished development on AW22 following on from its sportsbook certification last week

Tech company SB22 has announced that it has developed a patent-pending Apple Watch wagering app dubbed AW22.
SB22 announced the new app at G2E in Las Vegas this week, which followed on from its sportsbook product’s certification by Gaming Laboratories International last week.
The supplier has said that the app offers an “intuitive way” for punters to place bets quickly and track their bets from their Apple Watch.
The app has a concise betting menu that includes the most popular bets and personalised offers based on a user’s activity.
SB22’s sportsbook platform has been developed specifically for the US market and features a built-in player account management (PAM) system.
Vladimir Jovanovic, SB22 chief operating officer, said: “SB22’s Apple Watch app is the first of its kind in the sports betting industry and showcases the company’s commitment to delivering innovative technology that enhances the betting experience.”
Vik Shrestha, SB22 chief commercial officer, added: “Having a modern modular platform allows us to build technology that places the user experience at the forefront. AW22 offers a completely new way to place bets and allows our operator clients the ability to provide an innovative product eco-system that is highly differentiated.”
Wearable tech in the gambling industry has often been championed as the next stage of innovation and development.
In 2014, Betfair became one of the first operators to embrace wearable technology by developing a Google Glass-optimised sports betting product.
In 2015, Kindred Group launched an Apple Watch compatible app but held back on adding sports betting functionality to the wearable product.
Elsewhere, SB22 launched a VR betting platform last month that combines 360-degree live game streaming with betting capabilities.
