Sky Betting & Gaming expands Sheffield tech hub
Operator takes over first floor of the city’s Electric Works building on a five-year lease

Sky Betting & Gaming (SB&G) has expanded its tech office in Sheffield, with the operator securing space for 160 staff as part of a new lease agreement on its Electric Works office.
The operator has signed a five-year, £3.5m extension to the lease, which will see it take over the entire first floor of the Electric Works building.
The Sheffield office is home to the around 110 staff currently, who design and build the platforms and technology behind the company’s international products, including Sky Bet Italia, and critical components of the UK-facing product stack.
“We initially looked to Sheffield to help us meet our talent needs in terms of building a diverse and highly skilled workforce and this investment evidences the success of our growth plans,” said Simon Ince, SB&G director of international technology.
“Our core reasons for staying with The Electric Works are the keen pricing, the proximity to rail, bus and parking is unbeatable and to continue to build on our existing investment in infrastructure.”
SB&G now employees some 1,300 staff with offices in Leeds, London, Rome and Munich.
The firm is also in the process of securing a Malta licence ahead of its launch in Germany later this year.
