SkyBet agrees three-year OpenBet contract extension
eGaming Review operator of the year renews decade-long partnership for software, content, support and maintenance provision.

eGaming Review operator of the year SkyBet has signed a three-year contract extension with OpenBet for the provision of software, content, support and maintenance, the supplier has announced this morning.
The mainly UK-focused operator has a decade-long relationship with OpenBet and is one of the sports platform and software provider’s longest standing customers. Today’s deal will see OpenBet continue to supply the latest casino, poker and sportsbook products to SkyBet, Sky Vegas and Sky Poker.
OpenBet Sportsbook powers SkyBet’s online and mobile gambling platform from one centrally managed customer account, while the operator’s access to OpenBet Casino and its Remote Gaming Interface will enable Sky Vegas to select from the supplier’s proprietary content or third-party game providers.
The agreement also incorporates the continued use of OpenBet’s poker technology and software which, since its inception in 2007, has helped Sky Poker to become one of the most established in the UK poker market.
Sky Vegas launched its HTML 5 based mobile casino portal in early December last year. The product was developed in-house using OpenBet’s mobile backend solution and features content supplied by a number of software providers including OpenBet’s blackjack and roulette games; Endemol Games’ Deal or No Deal; Fremantlemedia’s X Factor: Steps to Stardom slot; and a slot game based on the adult comic Viz, developed by Blueprint Gaming.
Richard Flint (pictured), managing director of Sky Betting & Gaming, said: “OpenBet has been our biggest software supplier and have played a massive role in our success. Over the years they have provided a platform from which we have been able to build our unique and varied gaming proposition. We are confident they will continue to push the barriers of innovation ensuring that we have access to the very best software, content and support.”
David Loveday, CEO of OpenBet, adds: “We thrive from the relationships we build with our customers. SkyBet is a longstanding OpenBet customer and we have enjoyed being an integral part of their growth. Our commitment to SkyBet going forward is to continue to develop, innovate and provide the very best platform that is reliable, scalable and cutting-edge.”
