Smarkets CPO departs after just eight months with firm
Arnaud Thiercelin says he “accomplished everything” he could during short spell with London-based operator

Smarkets chief product officer (CPO) Arnaud Thiercelin has left the firm after just eight months.
Thiercelin joined the betting exchange operator in April 2022 after a two-year spell with aviation and aerospace tech firm Auterion.
Smarkets marked Thiercelin’s first venture into the industry, having previously led senior teams at drone tech firms DJI and Volansi.
In his role as Smarkets CPO, Thiercelin was responsible for building out the company’s products and the teams behind them. He also oversaw a swathe of tech outputs at the London-based firm.
However, less than a year after joining Smarkets, Thiercelin has exited the company, citing that he had “accomplished everything” he could during his spell.
Touching on his decision to depart, Thiercelin said: “At Smarkets, I’ve had the pleasure to work with incredible people who’ve consistently pushed the boundaries of my highest expectations.
“They’ve taken my directions, reshaped and improved them with their own individual styles and redefined what was possible.
“It’s been really rewarding, but I’ve accomplished everything I can and so it’s time to move on,” he added.
In September, Smarkets CEO Jason Trost told EGR how product was the key to the firm’s burgeoning US market hopes.
Smarkets is currently live in Colorado and Indiana with its SBK sportsbook app via its Full House Resorts partnership, with a launch Iowa set to follow.
