Smarkets recruits external agency for social media drive
Exchange operator appoints London-based marketing agency to take control of its Twitter, Facebook and YouTube accounts

Smarkets has appointed sports management company Strive Sponsorship to oversee its social media accounts and increase brand awareness across Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
The London-based marketing agency will be responsible for developing content-led, brand campaigns for Smarkets by taking the lead on the firm’s ongoing marketing activity.
The exchange operator’s social media activity was previously handled by Catena Media via its Squawka business, but Strive Sponsorship won a reportedly rigorous pitching process for the account.
Dan Levy, head of partnerships and content at Smarkets, said: “Our business is built on the best technology, fairest prices, and a thorough understanding of the markets we operate in; we were looking for an agency that would match our desire for quality, informed, sports-betting content.
“Strive was the standout candidate, impressing us with their in-depth knowledge of sports, and dedication, and proved the unanimous choice,” he added.
Strive has previously worked on sports media campaigns for brands including Guinness, British Airways and Team Sky, as well as London-listed casino giant 888.
