Snai full-year digital revenues take slight dip
Italian operator posts 3.5% drop but reports strong sportsbook growth in Q1 2016

Italian gaming giant Snai has recorded a 3.5% drop in online revenues for the full-year 2015 but said 2016 had started positively with wagers up by more than 50% during the first three months of the year.
The operator, which merged with Cogemat Group last year, saw its online revenue for the year ended 31 December drop to ?37.6m from the ?38.9m it posted last year – Cogemat contributed just ?0.4m to the 2015 total.
Online sports betting revenues dropped 2.5% to ?18.6m, while revenues from its online skill game, casino and bingo business dipped by 4.4% to ?19m.
The drop in online revenue came despite the group’s overall revenue rising by 20% to ?631.8m, meaning its digital arm became an even smaller part of the operator’s overall business.
However, the firm said its online sportsbook had recorded a 53% jump in turnover in Q1 2016 compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, Snai has moved to bolster its online business after signing a deal to receive Inspired Gaming’s slots, casino games, and virtual sports content via the supplier’s Virgo Remote Gaming Server.
Available for both desktop and mobile devices, Snai will now be able to offer Inspired titles such as Diamond Goddess, Goddess of the Amazon and Centurion.
“The agreement between Snai and Inspired enables us to significantly improve our offering on desktop and mobile devices, and to propose more innovative and engaging products our clients,” Fabio Schiavolin, Snai CEO, said.
“Snai’s gaming and betting offering, therefore, becomes more unique in Italy: we are the operator who can guarantee the broadest gaming portfolio in our country,” he added.
