Soccer Millionaire chief leads PickLive buyout
Group of private investors headed by David Galan acquire in-play fantasy sports business for undisclosed amount.

Real-time fantasy sports business PickLive limited has been acquired by a group of private investors led by David Galan, chief executive of Soccer Millionaire’s B2B arm Sports Millions.
The group intends to offer the flagship PickLive game to operators on a white-label basis, as well as expanding it beyond the existing football-only offering. Among other things it is targeting the US market where fantasy sports is among those forms of egaming which are legal.
Last year PickLive was nominated for a Guardian Technology Award for best technology breakthrough business, eventually finishing as runner-up to online courier business Shutl.
Alderney licensee Soccer Millionaire already offers pool betting and casino games as well as an online ‘spot the ball’ competition.
Galan said of the deal: “[PickLive’s] founding team has developed world class and truly innovative technology, which we believe is a unique fusion of sports betting, in-play engagement and social style gaming and that will undoubtedly appeal to gaming operators.
“The sports betting market is moving towards new models, and we see second screen entertainment as a massive growth market. We hope to continue developing the Picklive product to realise its worldwide potential,” he added.
