Sportech continues US growth with acquisition of online raffle platform provider Bump Worldwide for undisclosed fee

Sportech has continued the expansion of US business after acquiring Canadian online raffle platform supplier Bump Worldwide for an undisclosed fee.
Bump currently has license agreements in place with the charitable foundations of 12 professional sports teams in the NHL, NBA, NFL, MLS and NASCAR, including the Detroit Lions, Chicago Bulls and the Vancouver Canucks.
Sportech said the technology and sales processes used by Bump were aligned with those it provided for its racing, off-track betting and casino customers, and that it would leverage its digital experience to help bolster Bump’s product range.
“The acquisition of Bump further diversifies Sportech’s presence in the North American sports and gaming markets, adding professional sports team foundations to Sportech’s customer base and 50/50 raffles to our slate of products,” Andrew Gaughan, Sportech president, said.
Current members of the Bump management team will remain following the takeover, including founder and president Dan Tanenbaum, who said the deal would open up new markets and allow Bump to achieve its targets for growth.
“With its access to new markets, sporting events and complementary technologies, Sportech is the perfect partner for achieving Bump’s goals for growth and innovation, and the entire Bump team is excited to be a part of the Sportech organization,” Tanenbaum said.
The news comes just weeks after Sportech revealed it had been given the green light to open its second sports betting venue in Connecticut.
