SportingRisk hires ex-Genius Sports stalwart as CCO
Andy Phillips links up with the sports data firm following time as an independent consultant

SportingRisk has appointed industry veteran Andy Phillips as its new chief commercial officer (CCO).
Phillips will focus on the firm’s expanding tier-one client portfolio and delivering its growth aspirations.
He will also oversee expansion opportunities in developing markets for SportingRisk’s recently launched PropFutures product.
Phillips joins the London-based analytics firm after spending just over five years as an independent consultant.
His last full-time role came at Nasdaq, as the head of business development in the sports and gaming department between May 2019 and August 2021.
Phillips also worked as commercial director at APSdata between October 2017 and April 2019. His longest stint came at Genius Sports, where he spent almost a decade across several roles, culminating in his final position as director of international business development.
Speaking on his new role, Phillips said: “I’m thrilled to join SportingRisk as the business has unique data and innovative products that are extremely relevant to the current market.
“We can help operators continue to get value from their sports data, which is becoming increasingly expensive and complex to handle. We have tier-one clients already live, and several in the pipeline, and I’m really looking forward to getting out and talking to more operators in 2023.”
Henry Newman, SportingRisk CEO, added: “Andy brings a wealth of sports data and betting technology experience to the business as we look to deliver on our sales strategy in 2023. Our ability to present pricing and insights from one source is unique and will be a game-changer for operators looking to deliver truly-engaging betting experiences.”
