
Stan James given certainty with Irish Gold Cup deal
Three-year agreement marks renewed commitment to Stan James brand from Unibet parent company

Stan James will sponsor the next three editions of the Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown, a deal which underlines parent company Unibet Group’s long-term commitment to the brand.
The newly-named âStan James Irish Gold Cup’ will take place in February next year, with Carlingford Lough going for a third straight victory in the Grade 1 jumps event.
“We’re so excited to be working with Leopardstown on such an iconic race,” said Ed Nicholson, head of racing marketing for Stan James.
“Previous winners of the Stan James Irish Gold Cup reads like a âwho’s who’ of jumps racing, and we’re privileged to sponsor such a prestigious event. It’s a race that resonates on both sides of the Irish Sea and one that links in well with our other racing sponsorships.”
The sponsorship deal also marks a renewed commitment to the Stan James brand from its parent company, the soon-to-be renamed Unibet Group.
Group chief executive Henrik Tjärnström said earlier this year the firm was leaning towards a global single-brand strategy and was undecided on what to do, but the recent investment would suggest Stan James is here to stay.
