The Stars Group crowned Operator of the Year at EGR Italy Awards
Poker operator wins a hat-trick of awards while bet365 receives the trophy for best Sports Betting Operator
The Stars Group was crowned Operator of the Year at the EGR Italy Awards yesterday after sweeping up a trio of trophies at the prestigious ceremony.
Stars fought off stiff competition from Sisal and Eurobet to win the coveted award and completed an impressive hat-trick after winning Poker Operator of the Year and Social Marketing Operator.
Bet365 also enjoyed a successful evening, after taking home the awards for Mobile Operator and Sports Betting Operator.
Sisal was nominated in a staggering nine categories and was crowned victorious with the Casino Operator of the Year award, ahead of Eurobet, GoldBet, bwin Italia and The Stars Group.
Another big winner on the evening was tombola. The Sunderland-headquartered bingo firm did the double after claiming the trophies for Bingo Operator and Socially Responsible Operator.
Elsewhere, NetEnt was crowned Software Supplier of the Year while the Affiliate of the Year trophy went to Skores.
The esteemed ceremony, now in its fourth year, was held Monday night at the Rome Cavalieri, Waldorf Astoria.
