Stats Perform adds DAZN head as VP of data strategy
Data expert links up with data giant after four years at DAZN joint venture FIBA Media

Stats Perform has appointed former DAZN and Perform Group head Alexander Lanegger as its new VP of data strategy.
Taking to LinkedIn, Lanegger announced that he is “back in the world of data”, after four years working in business development and direct-to-consumer roles at FIBA Media as part of its strategic partnership with DAZN.
Lanegger entered the world of data in May 2010 when he joined RunningBall as project lead for basketball data collection.
He then moved to Perform Group in October 2012 as regional manager for North America, a New York-based role that he held for two years before becoming regional manager for APAC in Kuala Lumpur.
After three years in Malaysia, the former professional basketball player became head of field operations, a position split between London and Vienna, where he was responsible for Perform’s global in-venue data collection and development of its data collection tools Opta and RunningBall.
While at Perform, Lanegger also worked as an expert at Impact Hub in Vienna, where he offered advice on key areas for start-ups including business development, digital projects and team development.
