STS unveils new tech team office

Polish online gaming operator STS has unveiled a revamped office for its growing tech team in the city of Katowice.

The 540 sq m space will host several dozen STS employees, with 60 workstations, two conference rooms, a kitchen, private telephone booth and bedroom.

The operator partnered with interior design specialist Tétris, who they previously worked with on a project for the group’s Warsaw offices.

The office, which is built within an old warehouse, still bears the industrial atmosphere within. Tétris worked with steel structures and concrete surfaces to develop the space.

Due to the structural changes made from moving the warehouse into an office space, the façade of the building also had to be changed, with Tétris once again being deployed.

In terms of Covid-19 protocol, STS has implemented an employee rotation system to minimise virus transmission, as well as offering employees PCR and antigen testing regularly.

EGR understands the whole office has been made available to STS’ growing tech team due to rapid technological developments at the operator.

The redevelopment took place between July 2020 and March 2021, with the project completed on schedule despite the disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Marcin Walczysko, STS board member, said: “I am glad that once again we have been offered a fresh, unconventional concept, which allowed us to achieve an effect that perfectly fits the style of our company and the nature of the facility.

“We have gained a modern workplace that effectively strengthens the image of STS as an attractive employer,” he added.

Tomasz Spalik, Tétris development director, said: “Converting a warehouse into an office is a non-standard and exciting undertaking. STS had high expectations in terms of aesthetics, interior design and cost optimisation of the entire investment.

“We have prepared a concept changing the functional layout of the building. It was appreciated by the client and the end result is very impressive,” he added.
