Superbet enlists GiG for Magic Jackpot online migration
Retail casino brand transfers to Malta-based provider’s igaming platform to improve online offering in Romania

Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has launched a new online casino in Romania for Superbet brand Magic Jackpot.
Magic Jackpot is a well-established brand in the country and was hosted on machines in 940 of Superbet’s retail outlets throughout Romania and Poland.
The brand made its online debut in early 2021 after Superbet last year acquired a 60% majority stake in parent company Lucky7.
And Superbet has now recruited GiG to further its online expansion after the Malta-based provider received two new class II licences for the management and hosting of the brand on its platform.
GiG CCO Ben Clemes said: “I am excited that we have gone live in Romania with Magic Jackpot, a well-recognised local brand with a retail footprint across the country.
“GiG’s technical igaming platform, combined with the local experience of Superbet and operational expertise at Magic Jackpot, will provide a market-leading experience to their players.
“It’s a proud moment for GiG to power the launch of a new brand while entering another regulated jurisdiction, which we have seen accelerate over the past few years and we look forward to developing our presence further throughout 2021,” he added.
Romania’s fast-growing gaming market has doubled in size over the past few years, with gross gaming revenue (GGR) of €1.4bn in 2020, according to H2 Gambling Capital.
Magic Jackpot co-founder Magnus Petersson commented: “The Romanian project started back in June and was a completely new market for us.
“With help from Superbet and GiG, we managed to pull it off in eight months which is a great achievement we all can be proud of.”
