Superbet plots major Gibraltar recruitment drive
Operator plans to double its Gibraltar-based headcount next year as it closes in on a remote gaming licence

Superbet is to kick off a major recruitment drive in Gibraltar over the next 18 months as the operator looks to expand its international business under a new licence, EGR Intel has learned.
The company, which has already established a small office in Gibraltar, is currently in the final stages of applying for a remote gaming licence to help aid its international growth strategy.
The expansion will see Superbet increase its number of staffers based on The Rock to 20 by the end of this year, with plans to more than double its headcount to around 50 in 2018.
The Gibraltar operation will be led by managing director of Superbet.com, Stuart Weston, who recently joined from William Hill where he spent more than two decades, most recently as sportsbook director.
“Superbet feels privileged to be joining such a premium roster of licensed operators on the Rock and looks forward to working closely with the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner as we complete the application process,” Sacha Dragic, Superbet CEO, said.
“Led by Stuart Weston, I am confident we can build a successful operation in Gibraltar from where we will be able to offer customers an innovative and entertaining betting experience,” he added.
Romania-headquartered Superbet currently employs more than 3,000 people across Europe and is in the process of building a new platform, featuring customised bet placement, gamification and personalised post-bet care.
The firm has been on a hiring spree of late, appointing a number of former senior William Hill staffers with the likes of Finbarr Joy and Peter Morgan having joined in recent months.
It also took a large Poland-based team from rival Fortuna, including its country CEO, as it looks to launch both online and retail products in the market before the end of the year.
