Svenska Spel inks two multi-million Swedish sponsorship deals
Operator signs deals with Swedish Olympic Committee and Ski Association worth €16.9m

Svenska Spel has agreed two seven-year sponsorship deals with the Swedish Olympic Committee and the Swedish Ski Association.
Under the terms of its SEK100m (€9.4m) deal to become the new main sponsor of the Swedish Olympic Committee (SOK), Svenska Spel will make a “targeted investment” into the SOK’s Top and Talent program. It will also create the first Svenska Spel team, in which specially selected athletes from several different sports will be included.
The SOK holds primary responsibility for forming and overseeing the Swedish Olympic team, while also aiming to inspire participation in sport through the development of opportunities for young people throughout Sweden.
Patrik Hofbauer, Svenska Spel CEO, highlighted the company’s large sponsorship portfolio, which includes sponsorships with the Swedish Football Association, the Swedish Ice Hockey Association, the Swedish Handball Federation, the Swedish floorball association and the Swedish female hockey Association.
“We want to be involved and contribute to making Swedish Olympians even more successful and we will do everything possible to support the best possible conditions,” Hoffbauer added.
In addition, Svenska Spel has also concluded a seven-year, SEK80m (€7.5m) sponsorship deal with the Swedish Ski Association.
Under the terms of the deal, Svenska Spel will make an investment into the Swedish Ski Association’s development team of 24 young promising cross-country skiers aged 18-22, who will now be known as Team Svenska Spel.
Swedish Ski Association senior director Ola Strömberg highlighted Svenska Spel’s “long-term and great commitment to Swedish sports”.
“Therefore, it feels very good to start a collaboration that gives the national team new opportunities. In Svenska Spel we get a partner who will do everything possible to create the right conditions for our activity,” Strömberg added.
