Swiss regulator awards two more online licences
Six land-based operators now able to offer online gaming to Swiss players

The Swiss Federal Gaming Board has granted two new online licences to Grand Casino Kursaal Bern AG and Casino Interlaken AG, taking the number of licences issued to six.
The povisional licences were granted by the Swiss Federal Council, however the Swiss Federal Gaming Board must first review each casino’s offering before formally granting the licences.
The casinos join Grand Casino Baden AG, Casino Davos AG, Grand Casino Lucerne AG and Casino Zürichsee AG in being awarded licences to operate egaming under the Swiss money gaming act.
A total of 21 land-based casinos in Switzerland can offer egaming under the act, which grants exclusivity to Switzerland’s land-based operators over their international counterparts.
However, Swiss casino operators are still able to agree supply contracts with international firms, with Playtech and Paf agreeing deals to supply online tech to Swiss Casinos and Grand Casino Luzern respectively.
Last week, the Swiss Federal Gaming Board added 20 new domains to its blacklist of unlicensed online sites, bringing the total number of sites up to 59.
Under the Swiss Money Gaming Act, any domain identified by regulators is required to be blocked by Swiss facing internet service providers, while any ISP not doing so will receive a regulatory penalty.
