
Tabcorp online turnover grows
Group net profit rises 12.7% year-on-year " overall gaming revenues flat.

Tabcorp has seen online betting continue to thrive while its telephone counterpart moves in the opposite direction, the Australian operator revealed in its financial results for the year ended 30 June.
Online turnover rose 14.5% year-on-year to AU$2.16bn, while the operator recorded more than 550,000 downloads of its iPhone, iPad and Android betting apps. Telephone betting turnover, however fell 6.8% year-on-year to $825.6m.
The company’s Luxbet business, one of several operators listed on Oddschecker’s Australia equivalent Oddsscanner, recorded revenues of $27.8m, up 34.8% compared to the previous year.
Group revenues rose 3.1% to $3.04bn, with wagering (up 10% to $242.2m) the star performer. Gaming revenues, however were relatively flat, rising 1.1% year-on-year to $244.1m.
The results come days after London-listed operator Sportingbet reported significant growth from its Australian operations, with its acquisitiion of Centrebet contributing to a 93% year-on-year revenue increase.
Tabcorp managing director and CEO David Attenborough said: “Our wagering business benefited from our continued investment in a multi-channel strategy across online, mobile and retail, delivering to our customers a full range of fixed odds and totalisator products.”
