Playtech-run operator moves UK-based customers onto Antigua-licensed platform ahead of new regulatory regime

Titanbet is to migrate its UK-based customers onto a new Titanbet.co.uk site over the course of the next week as part of the operator’s plan to secure a licence for the UK’s new regulatory regime.
In an email to UK customers yesterday, operator said the new Antigua-licensed site would be operated by PT Entertainment Services, a subsidiary of Playtech, and it is believed the new site will be run separately from Titan’s main dot com site.
All UK customers’ open bets and account balances are to be transferred across to the new site by 8 September, one week ahead of the final deadline for transitional licence applications, which will enable operators to continue to trade unaffected throughout the licensing process.
The UK regime goes live 1 October, however, the regulator has said it may be unable to process all full licence applications in time, as such, those currently licensed by white-listed jurisdictions are able to apply for the short-term permit.
Speaking to eGaming Review this morning, Russell Yershon, Titanbet’s UK sportsbook spokesperson, said that as well as assisting the operator’s bid for a UK licence, the new site would enable the operator to increase its appeal to UK customers and grow the business further.
“It’s going to be able to target the UK customers in a much better way with a wider range of promotions and increase in marketing, while our new mobile product should also see us be competitive in that area,” Yershon said.
Titanbet became the first customer to sign-up to Playtech’s Geneity sportsbook in 2012, shortly after Playtech acquired the supplier for a fee of around 15m.
