Ultimate Gaming clinches final Nevada approval
Operator given all-clear from Nevada Gaming Commission for online poker site
Ultimate Gaming has received final approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission to operate the state’s only legal online poker offering.
The Station Casinos subsidiary originally launched Ultimate Poker on 30 April with a field trial to prove that the site met state regulations regarding interactive wagering. With the 90-day trial period complete, company chief technology officer Chris Derossi submitted a detailed report on the system.
Although figures and financial details were not publicly disclosed, Derossi confirmed Ultimate Poker has already dealt in excess of 9.1 million hands of poker and operated 100,000 tournaments since its launch.
The operator’s approval means that the second version of its client can progress towards release, with company chief marketing officer Joe Versaci confirming via Twitter that the client is days away from a roll out.
Ultimate Gaming has also announced the appointment of Mike Britt as vice president of market development. Britt joins from Wynn Resorts, where he was vice president of community and government affairs, and brings with him a decade of experience in governmental and legislative affairs.
Britt will be responsible for the company’s legislative efforts, with Ultimate Poker pushing for a New Jersey launch having penned a deal with Trump Taj Mahal Associates earlier this month. He also previously served as an associate director for the White House Office of Political Affairs.
